This course continues to expose student teachers to the teaching of language and literacy to students in the middle and upper divisions. It helps student teachers to acquire knowledge and pedagogical skills in learning how to teach and provide adequate instruction for the teaching of the Language Arts skills in the Primary Classroom. The focus is on strategies for the effective teaching of Language Arts. There is particular emphasis on the planning of Language Arts instruction as proposed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology. Student teachers engage in authentic activities that enable them to explore the interconnection between planning, teaching, and assessing while keeping child-centered learning as a major focus.
