This course is mandatory for students enrolled in the Associate of Arts in Primary Education Program. The teaching Practicum Experience is designed to provide an opportunity for both in-service and preservice student teachers to be introduced to the formal classroom. It is intended that they develop a repertoire of pedagogical skills through classroom observation and reflective teaching. They are expected to make relevant connections to the theoretical and practical aspects of teaching. Participation in this experience provides ample opportunities to demonstrate positive attitudes about teaching. It also enables the student teacher to explore exemplary teaching practices.
