College English 2 builds on foundational writing skills by introducing students to the principles and practices of academic research, critical reading, and formal composition. This course emphasizes the development of a well‑structured research paper that demonstrates clear argumentation, credible source integration, and adherence to the APA documentation style.
Students will learn how to locate, evaluate, and synthesize scholarly sources; develop research questions; construct thesis statement arguments; and apply APA conventions for in‑text citations, reference lists, formatting, and ethical use of information. Through guided workshops, peer review, and iterative drafting, students will refine their ability to write with clarity, coherence, and academic integrity.
By the end of the course, students will produce a polished, fully documented APA‑style research paper that reflects college‑level writing proficiency and demonstrates mastery of the research process from inquiry to final revision
